your privacy, in plain words.

the short version, then the details. we collect what we need to make the site work, and nothing else. you can delete it all whenever you want.

the short version

five promises that should answer 90% of your questions.

  • we don't sell your data. not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • we collect the minimum. email, bookmarks, anonymous analytics. that's it.
  • delete means delete. hit the button, it's gone — no soft-delete, no 30-day grace.
  • analytics opt-out is easy. any tracker blocker works. no dark patterns.
  • two cookies, both technical. one for login, one for theme.
  • real humans answer email. within 48 hours, every time.
section 01

what we collect

only what we need to make the site work for you.

  • account info — your email, name, and the provider you signed in with (google or instagram).
  • your activity on artifind — bookmarks, search history, and which businesses you've opened. so we can show them back to you.
  • anonymous analytics — page loads, click counts, errors. via posthog and sentry. no names attached.
  • device basics — browser, language, timezone. for debugging and showing the right country.

that's it. no contact lists, no location tracking, no cross-site fingerprinting.

section 02

why we collect it

  • to keep your account secure and let you log back in.
  • to make search results better over time.
  • to fix bugs we don't know about yet.
  • to send you transactional email — password resets, account changes. never marketing.
section 03

who we share it with

we use a small handful of trusted services to run the site:

  • posthog — anonymous product analytics.
  • sentry — error reporting.
  • cloudflare r2 — image storage.
  • google & instagram — only when you sign in via them, and only the basics they ask for (email, profile name).

we don't sell your data. we don't share it with advertisers. we don't have advertisers.

section 04

cookies

two cookies. that's the whole story.

  • session cookie — keeps you logged in. expires when you log out.
  • theme cookie — remembers if you picked dark mode. that's it.

analytics use a single anonymous identifier in localstorage, not a cookie. you can clear it any time from your browser settings.

section 05

your rights

at any time, you can:

  • export everything — email us and we'll send you a json file with everything we have on you.
  • delete your account — permanent and immediate. we keep nothing.
  • opt out of analytics — block posthog in your browser, or use a tracker-blocking extension. we won't fight it.
section 06

how long we keep things

  • your account — until you delete it.
  • server logs — 30 days, then auto-purged.
  • encrypted backups — 90 days on a rolling window.
  • error reports — 90 days in sentry.
section 07

kids

artifind isn't intended for people under 13. we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

section 08

if this changes

if we update this policy, we'll show a notice in-app the next time you visit. for big changes (new third parties, new categories of data) we'll email you too.
